Bear is an amazing dog, he plays well with other dogs, gets along with cats and is REALLY good with kids. Bear has hit the sweet spot of enough energy to play and enough chill to just hang out. He loves all. Bear isn’t the smartest ( due to previous seizures) and everyone describes him as VERY SWEET. Bear loves attention and will give you all of his.
Bear came to Puplandia because his epilepsy was uncontrolled on one basic drug and after trial and error, a neurologist, and 4 months later we have found the correct medications – he may have push through seizures but for now he’s been seizure free for months.
Currently Bear eats NUROCARE dog food its $55 a month through your vet or, He’s on 2 medications, Phenobarbital (3-month supply) is $66, Potassium Bromide is $35 a month. On $72 with your vet. Monthly Bear will cost $112 dollars for food and meds. Bear has lost sight in one eye due to his seizures, but it doesn’t slow him down, he plays, he runs, he cuddles. Bear is kennel trained and knows in his kennel to settle. He will bark when first left alone but calms. The best family for Bear will be a family with epilepsy experience or medical experience, it’s always jarring when a dog has a seizure but with the correct vet team, the correct meds on hand its 100% manageable.
Bear would love a family that is home with him often, he can be left 4-5 hours total in a day. He would love a back yard to run and investigate. If Bear sounds like the perfect dog for you please email for an application and put BEAR in the subject line.

Adoption Info

  • Puplandia only adopts within the Portland metro area (within 1 hour of Beaverton, OR).

  • The first thing you will want to do is check out our pups that are ready for adoption.  Once you come across a fur baby that looks like it might be a good fit, please e-mail to get an application, with the name of the pup in your subject line.

  • Please know that applications are reviewed with a best fit mentality and are not first come first serve.

  • As we are completely foster based, meet and greets are done by appointment only on approved applications.  We do not have a facility that you can go to and meet all available dogs, but we do have monthly adoption events that we promote on our Facebook page and Instagram.

  • We require all of our dogs to be spayed/neutered prior to adoption or in a specific time frame for puppies.  We do not allow ear cropping or tail docking and a home visit is required before any adoption can take place.

  • The cost to adopt a dog is as follows:

-Puppy (Under 1 year old) $400 Fee (Plus a $200 Spay/Neuter Deposit for puppies under 4 months of age.

-Adult dogs  (1 + Years old) $300 Fee

  • The adoption fee ensures that the dog is up to date on shots, microchipped and spayed/neutered at the time of adoption. In many cases, the adoption fees do not cover all the costs Puplandia has incurred to get the dog healthy and ready for adoption.  All additional medical costs to ensure a healthy pup are covered entirely through donations.
