Owen
Owen is tiny but mighty. He is ready to play, cuddle, follow you everywhere and be your very best shadow. He needs an animal friend or two who can keep up with his puppy antics. He loves everyone he meets and is a very happy puppy. He is not very food motivated but loves praise. He thrives with positive reinforcement. Owen can have puppy-tude where he will talk to you if you are ignoring him, but shih tzus are a talkative breed. He does very well for brushing and nail trims. We make an effort to work on that as he will require grooming with his fluffy coat. He loves to play with his plush toys and running as fast as his little legs let him. When left alone he is in a play pen, with his kennel door open, and he does very well with this. Kennel training has been a work in progress and have found that our slower approach with the kennel helps keep the experience positive for him. He may whimper for a short while, but quickly settles and keeps himself entertained with his toys. He will also take naps in his kennel.
Potty training - outside potty training is a must, if you plan to pee pad train him Puplandia is not the rescue for you.
Owen is ready to be someone’s best friend and take on the world. He is not fully vaccinated so a fenced and secure place to potty train is a must.
Owen is very young and very small, his perfect family will be prepared to take on training and crying and all the things new babies need.

Carlie
Carlie is a happy, super smart young lab. She has shown us she shouldn’t live with other animals and would thrive with an active owner- Hiking? Running? She’s going to be the best adventure buddy!
Carlie knows sit, come, “kennel”, shake, roll over, & sit pretty.
She’s still learning fetch. She loves the water and splashes and runs and attempts to swim any chance she gets.
Carlie is very food motivated, using her meals to reinforce good behavior and training has been fun and she learns everything very quickly. She rides fine in the car, she wines a little, chews on a bully stick, smells outside or sleeps.
Carlie wants to get into the trash and counter surf so a family that puts all food away is a must.

Puplandia only adopts within the Portland metro area (within 1 hour of Beaverton, OR).

The first thing you will want to do is check out our pups that are ready for adoption. Once you come across a fur baby that looks like it might be a good fit, please e-mail puplandiadogrescue@gmail.com to get an application, with the name of the pup in your subject line.

Please know that applications are reviewed with a best fit mentality and are not first come first serve.

As we are completely foster based, meet and greets are done by appointment only on approved applications. We do not have a facility that you can go to and meet all available dogs, but we do have monthly adoption events that we promote on our Facebook page and Instagram.

We require all of our dogs to be spayed/neutered prior to adoption or in a specific time frame for puppies. We do not allow ear cropping or tail docking and a home visit is required before any adoption can take place.

The cost to adopt a dog is as follows:
-Puppy (Under 1 year old) $450 Fee (Plus a $200 Spay/Neuter Deposit for puppies under 4 months of age.
-Adult dogs (1 + Years old) $350 Fee

The adoption fee ensures that the dog is up to date on shots, microchipped and spayed/neutered at the time of adoption. In many cases, the adoption fees do not cover all the costs Puplandia has incurred to get the dog healthy and ready for adoption. All additional medical costs to ensure a healthy pup are covered entirely through donations.
